'Wild Again'
Anusara® Yoga Weekend Retreat
Somerset, England
26th - 28th June, 2026
|
Feeling a bit stuck in a rut? Really need a break from the humdrum? Want some 'me time'? Are you ready to eat well, sleep deeply, rest, rediscover and re-wild your yoga practice? All in the great company of your other lovely fellow yogis! This weekend away is just long enough for you to properly press pause on the distractions, the busy and the everyday ...
We will be together from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon, so that's two nights away to refresh and revive. Extended time on your mat, and with me as your dedicated teacher gives you the space to really get curious and improve is all aspects of yoga, explore some poses we don't get time to in class and push yourself a bit more. Picture yourself rolling out your mat in a gorgeous yurt, curling up in a sofa, eating incredible food or going for a wonderfully long walk with no other distractions other than wondering what the cooks will be making you for your healthy dinner! Yoga retreats pause time. Allowing space for you to reflect and ponder, to journal, to stretch and move, to laugh with like minded people, to hide away a while, to eat well, to sleep deeply and to step outside of the daily churn. On retreat you can simply be you ... ditch the labels (leave behind your role, your job title, your family position, the labels you give yourself) and start listening to your heart space. |
The ingredients of the perfect weekend ...

Your yoga teacher for the weekend, Sarah Powell

I'm an Experience Certified Anusara® Yoga (ECAT) and a Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance teacher with a passion for teaching this spiritually uplifting and inspiring lineage of yoga ... Anusara. I teach you to start looking for the good, to fall in love with the roller-coaster of life and trust your body. The yoga will help you find find an emotional ease, and explore and uplift your energy.
I encourage you not to take yourself, or life, too seriously, which acts in perfect balance with the Anusara Yoga safe, well aligned yoga system. The combination is perfect to stimulate and motivate you physically, mentally and spirituality ... all of that with a smile on your face and having the best time!

The Anusara Yoga Practice
Our practice will take place in a spacious yurt just a short stroll from your bedroom. This gorgeous space will create a calming and nurturing environment where we can practice in a mandala (circle) and all props are provided by the venue ... so just bring you!
I have planned some gorgeous classes to call on the wild, flowing and fun side of yoga ... think sunflowers, wild-child and hippy flows! We will use the practice to take ourselves a little less seriously, lighten up and explore and deepen the practice. The extra long classes will be well paced with pauses along the way, but the additional time will perhaps see you move deeper and get a better understanding of yourself. This is open to all levels of yogi ... I've got years of experience, so I will treat you to a physical practice that can be appropriately adjusted for all bodies, whilst weaving in freeing poetry and story telling and encouraging you to journal and play! To me this is the perfect combination!
Practices will range from some strong, freeing Hatha, to more relaxing restorative in the afternoons, and on to stillness in an evening crystal bowl sound bath aa well as morning meditations. So you will experience the full spectrum of yoga, and I will manage energy levels to ensure you get a good balance and go home refreshed, inspired and re-wilded!

Delicious and Nutritious
Soil-To-Gut Food Philosophy
"The guiding principle of our land & food practice is to work with nature not against it.
In this way we tend to ourselves, to the land, and to our shared future"
42 Acres
42Acres apply a regenerative, hyper-local and simple food philosophy that demonstrates a way of eating that continues the traditions of the past and supports a shared future. Their Soil-to-Gut Food Philosophy reflects their belief that as we restore microbiomes in our soils, we restore microbiomes in our guts. In this way, land and food practices can create a bridge between personal and planetary health.
The food you will eat at 42Acres is a final expression of their land, lovingly tended and created by the land and food teams. Much is homegrown in the permaculture garden or wild-foraged on site land. It is nutrient-dense and deeply nourishing.
Menus are deliberately kept simple and the in-house retreat chefs creatively include whatever the land offers to ensure zero waste. Simple also means no chemicals. They are organic in principle, although we don’t believe we need a stamp on nature to prove it!
