Teaching with a class theme is one of the hallmarks of Anusara® yoga. A class with well delivered and clear theme is a powerful and unique thing. In a yoga world where the focus is increasingly focused asana ... being an inspiring a heart felt teacher will make you stand out from the crowd!
Themes are powerful because they remind us of its deeper purpose and meaning in our lives that goes way beyond the physical shape. Theme reminds both the teacher and student that we 'shape shift to state shift'.
Although teaching with a theme is introduced in the 200-Hour Anusara Yoga Immersion and Teacher Training, it often remains a skill that can be challenging for many teachers, and therefore is not well understood or honed. In this module, Sarah will share a group of simple but coherent methods to make class themes that are authentic, inspiring and powerful. Taking time how to create and develop inspiring themes that YOU feel comfortable delivering to your students.
- Practice ways to develop & personalising themes that feel genuine to you, so that they feel easeful and delightful to teach
- Learn how to communicate and deliver theme so that each student 'gets' it and leaves with a 'message'
- Intelligently combining asana with UPAs that speak to your theme
- Creating sequences that echo the theme throughout the flow of the class
- Developing your use of metaphors, imagery, storytelling and playing to your strengths so that your theme is authentic yet inspiring
We will meet online over 3 weekends (4-7pm) and a small amount of homework will be given. All sessions will be recorded if you cannot attend live. Open to all yoga teachers, regardless of lineage, although some basic theming knowledge from the Anusara 200hr TT will be assumed.

Modules with Julia Pearring
Asanas challenge and attune us to the deep flows of our creative power, the innermost power that generates the body and guides us to our own source. This course acts as a bridge between the experiential depths of the practice that can't be measured, and yet can always be fine-tuned and deepened, and learning the implications of anatomy and kinesiology, which hold great insight and ground our practice in the vehicle of the body. Each week, the relationships between the bones, joints and muscles will be discussed by region and then embodied through asana-based movement explorations. Open to yoga teachers as well as yoga and movement enthusiasts.
