The South Downs National Park is well known as one of "Britains Breathing Spaces". It offers a highly diverse range of landscapes from ancient woodland, green rolling pastures, wide open spaces, dramatic coastlines and beautiful river valleys. There is so much to explore in the region.
With over 3,300km of trails to choose from there are endless places to explore on foot, by bike or even on horse back. There are numerous events in the area if you have time to stay on in the area before or after our retreat. Tilton House has views across the Sussex Weald as well as Firle Beacon. You can explore their grounds and just drink in the scenery from the comfort of the library, lounge or even your bedroom. Being immersed in nature like this has so many benefits on the human psyche, leaving us feeling calm and grounded. This is an ideal place to unwind, relax and breathe deep. |

The Pilates with Sharon ...
I am a fully certified Level 2 STOTT Pilates instructor. This means I am trained and have been examined to a high standard in Pilates method that is respected worldwide. I am able to teach to an advanced level in all the equipment (reformer, mat, cadillac, chairs, barrels and special populations).
I was lucky enough to be trained and mentored at the then largest studio in Australia. Shortly after training I joined their team of instructors, teaching large groups, private and studio classes. In addition to this I have also taught at gyms including Virgin Active, boutique studios, dressage stables, tennis clubs and in the corporate environment. I have a wealth of experience in Pilates personal training, including a large range of clients from Iron Men and Women and professional sports people to those with nagging back pain needing to improve core strength. I also teach clinical Pilates for rehabilitation, including back and neck disc injuries, shoulder and hip reconditioning. I love to improve people’s bodies and increase their understanding of how to continue in their sport, or simply how to get through each day without pain. |
The Anusara Yoga with Sarah ...
Sarah teaches Anusara® Yoga which incorporates both body, mind and breath. She is a Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance and an Experienced Anusara Certified (one of only 2 in the UK). Please navigate to the home page to find out more about me and my style.
On this weekend away the yoga will be aim to build a little 'inner fire' and classes are inspired by Durga! She is the goddess of 'girl power', grit and determination and I will tell you a few of her inspirational stories as we move through asana. These fascinating myths may be old, but their message are still as vital to empowering ourselves in 2020, as they were 200BC. Over the weekend, we will delve into both some uplifting energising Hatha style classes, as well as some calming, soothing Restorative and Meditations. Do as much or as little as you like - there are no rules - make this weekend your own! Join me, dig deep and re-ignite your fire! |
Tilton House - our weekend home from home
Your accommodation for the weekend is just lovely. This historical house has warm, comfortable and snug feel and is truly a home from home. Kick back and curl up on the sofas and sip your evening tipple overlooking the stunning countryside.
There are twin share room, a multi-share room (5 share - ladies only) and if you would like a room to yourself we could arrange that too (for a supplement). All rooms have shared bathrooms (bring your own towel & toiletries). There is also a treatment room (massages can be pre-booked), a cedar wood sauna, outdoor tennis court (racket & balls provided) and gardens to explore. |
Our nine yoga and/or pilates practices will take place in the beautiful grounds of Tilton House, a few steps away from the main house in a yurt! This gorgeous, atmospheric space will make our practice even more magical. We will truly immersed in nature in this wonderful woodland - I can't wait to roll out our mats!

Delicious and Nutritious Food
Shaun is the cook at Tilton House! He will nourish your body and soul with six vegetarian, organic meals over our weekend (Friday dinner, through to Sunday lunch). In addition there will be a daily fruit, snacks, teas and unlimited water.
All meals are served buffet style and we sit around the big comfy country kitchen table together. There is nothing like a beautiful meal at the end of the day all together. What's more the local farm shop is just a 2 minute car-ride away and you are very welcome to purchase a little evening tipple from there and bring it to dinner! All in all, you will be nourishing your body as well as your heart, with the added bonus of some else cooks and washes up! Yay!
